DCLG CONSULTS OVER DISTRIBUTION

""

The Department for Communities & Local Government has launched its consultation on how to distribute grant over the next three years.

Members of the settlement working group have been meeting to discuss how to share out whatever grant the Treasury decides councils should receive.

The DCLG claims the consultation document on the formula should ensure fair and predictable funding for councils. However, in his review of local government, Sir Michael Lyons recommended a degree of fairness should be sacrificed to give councils an incentive to grow their economies.
