LGC view: senior council staff should use Twitter
The majority of councils now use Twitter to communicate with residents, and according to the TweetyHall project, some 560 councillors tweet. The site is also popular with ambitious managers, particularly those in communications and policy roles. Yet while the number of chief executives has now climbed to 19, chiefs and directors are under-represented.
