Comment on: Concern at asbestos in social housing
Asbestos was in my parents home. It was finally removed but the company who did the job left my elderly parents in the home while they did the work in white suits and masks with breathing equipment. My parents lived there with asbestos for 40years and my father died of cancer and my brother had skin cancer. Three have breathing and lung problems. There are many homes with asbestos, this should have been removed years ago given the risks.

Comment on: Laming: need for change is urgent
There should be clear lines between assisting families in need because of housing problems, illness, disability or crisis and investigating serious abuse to children which should and must be a police matter. The only way to get public support for social workers in the front line on housing estates is to work with families and assist without risk of taking children where there is no need. To protect children trust must be gained from innocent families, the blanket cover removal of children must stop. As with most murders of children it has been sheer negligence and a failing system that allowed this to happen, the same failing system that wrongfully removes children into care.
