What do a coffin, a grand piano and pet tortoise all have in common? They are all bizarre things taken to Surrey CC community recycling centres over the past few months. Apart from the tortoise - which had a narrow escape - these items, along with millions of others, have helped Surrey reach a 50% recycling rate for household waste almost a decade ahead of government targets.
