Civica: improving efficiency, service delivery and productivity
With a history of growth and a foundation of strong financial performance, Civica is ideally placed as a stable partner to help customers address financial and service pressures while adapting to a new public services landscape.
In 2010 Civica delivered a good financial and operating performance across the Group as a whole, with revenues increased by 16% over the previous year to £169 million and earnings increased to £28.7 million. This was underpinned by good conversion of operating profit to cash flow (87%). The proportion of revenues derived from activities related to owned software continued to increase with turnover from these activities up to £141.4 million.
In addition to organic growth for Civica’s range of specialist applications, the Group continues to make progress with strategic objectives including new cloud-based services across all geographies and markets and momentum for business process services in areas of specialist expertise as organisations seek to reduce costs and to change the way they operate. Backed by a record of successful service delivery around the world, Civica provides the stability and experience to help customers through a period of change.
The Group has a balanced portfolio of activity across markets and geographies, with local government the largest segment producing just over half of the total gross profit. The majority of activity is derived from the UK public sector while c.40% of gross profit is derived from international operations in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and the USA, through a mixture of owned software delivery through to full business process outsourcing contracts.
