Civica launches GIS unit and a new identity for Innogistic
Civica, a market leader in specialist systems and business process services that help organisations to transform the way they work, has revealed a new identity for group company Innogistic with the launch of Civica GIS.
The launch, following the acquisition of Innogistic in September 2011, provides a foundation for the business to develop a stronger market position supported by the group’s broader range of products and services, at a time when geographic and location data is increasingly used to achieve fast, flexible and lower cost services.
Civica GIS specialises in geographic information systems (GIS), address management solutions and related applications including fire safety and land and property systems. It provides a leading range of web-based, desktop and mobile applications to local authorities, fire services, public protection agencies and utilities, helping more than 120 customers to deliver efficient services enabled by geospatial data and computerised mapping.
GIS technology is widely recognised as an integral part of service operations and a means to improve service delivery and efficiency. It is one of the top technologies used for delivering efficiency identified in the latest survey of IT trends published by the Society of Information Technology Management in local public services (Socitm)1.
Civica GIS will continue to deliver and develop the Innogistic product portfolio to maximise the business value of geographic data for customers. It supports significant enterprise systems for customers including Yorkshire Water, Northern Ireland Water and 70% of the UK’s fire & rescue services, and has continued to win new contracts, recently including the Scottish Agricultural College and a network of mapping and data centres. Its ‘Fastweb’ application achieved the top rating for online planning application software performance in an independent analysis conducted earlier this year.
Tony Hughes, public protection managing director at Civica, said: “Innogistic is now integrated into the group and the launch of Civica GIS provides a clear focus to build on the company’s track record and to provide customers with access to an extended range of leading products and services which help organisations to maintain and improve services.”
Dave Roberts, managing director of Civica GIS, said: “Civica GIS is a strong partner for our customers, blending the commitment, flexibility and responsiveness of a specialist with the scale and capability of a large organisation. While continuing with current programmes in particular for local public services, blue light organisations and utilities, we look forward to offering increased value to customers in line with the Group’s clear vision and strategy.”
