Simon Downing, Chief Executive
Simon Downing has more than 20 years of experience in the IT industry.

He was responsible for the formation of Civica following the successful buyout with Alchemy Partners of a UK listed software business in January 2000. He then led the IPO of Civica plc in March 2004 and the subsequent growth and international expansion of the Group.
In May 2008 Simon led the team which completed the buyout of Civica plc, with a fund backed by 3i and management, for £220m.
Since the buyout, Simon has been leading the next phase of growth for Civica complemented by a series of acquisitions and the development of outsourcing services, helping customers to reduce costs and improve service delivery - particularly in the public sector.
His background includes a variety of management roles in the IT industry and he is a graduate engineer.
Simon is also a non-executive director at vocational training specialist Paragon Group.
