LGC Awards 2013: the LGA is proud to continue its support
The LGA is once again delighted to support the annual LGC Awards.
Local government is undergoing a radical transformation; finding new ways to deliver efficiencies while at the same time maintaining and improving services.
This has been achieved by the conscientious and committed people who work in councils and who make a real difference to people’s lives.
The LGC Awards are a way for us to recognise and reward those staff who work on the frontline of service delivery and who are often the lowest paid in local government.
Local communities depend on the services that local government delivers and on the people who deliver them. It is not just about one night of celebration, because every single day of the week, there are examples of people going the extra mile to deliver services that can genuinely change lives for the better.
As well as recognising these achievements by showcasing best practice, these awards also provide a way to further improve performance.
I strongly encourage you to enter the LGC Awards 2013 so that the whole of local government can benefit from your knowledge, skills and experience.
I would like to wish everyone who enters the LGC Awards the very best of luck.
Carolyn Downs, chief executive, LGA
