Junior Welsh minister Gwilym Jones yesterday said in a written answer that at 30 November 1993 53,623 counil tax appeals had been made in Wales.

'This represents 4.4% of all dwellings in the valuation lists. Of these 10,600 had already been settled. The Welsh Office is considering the arrangements for dealing with outstanding appeals with the Agency and representatives of the valuation tribunal service.'
