Today's Mori opinion poll reveals that 70% of Londoners would vote for an elected London wide local authority if there was a referendum, the Evening Standard reports (page 15). 19% would vote against, 9% said they didn't know and 2% refused to comment.

Asked whether they thought there should be a referendum on whether or not there should be an elected London wide local authority, 45% said yes, 21% said no and 34% didn't know.
