The union official who accused Aberdeen DC chief executive of bullying is to be sued for defamation, the Scotsman reports on its front page.

Lawyers for Donald Macdonald confirmed yesterday that the action of defamation would be pursued with the 'utmost vigour'. The move follows an interim interdict secured three months ago which prevented Ms Thackray from repeating allegations.

Two days ago, a report into the allegations by Gordon Coutts, QC, stated there was insufficient evidence of a significant level of ill- health of staff attributable to bullying.
