The call for a referendum on local government reorganisation in Wales from the Assembly of Welsh Counties has got the full backing of the Association of County Councils.

The ACC endorsed a motion supporting the proposal at its executive meeting in Leicester today.

The assembly said proposals for change in Welsh local government had been made without proper public consultation.
