The Office for National Statistics has published the latest breakdown of public finances.

The figures cover July 2006, and provisional estimates show that in July the public sector had a current budget surplus of£8.4bn. Net borrowing was at -£6.3bn.

Net debt was£465.4bn, amounting to 36.5% of GDP.
