The Midlands is fast becoming an election battleground, with all political parties following the prime minister's visit to Birmingham last week, the Post reports (p5).

Councils of Birmingham, Dudley, Wolverhampton and Stratford-on-Avon could all change hands, reports the paper. Yesterday Liberal Democrat leader, Paddy Ashdown and shadow treasury spokesperson, Harriet Harman, visited the area.
