Coventry City Council is considering using rainwater instead of supplies from the mains in public buildings and schools.

Five homes are currently trying out a rainwater system which channels water underground before pumping it into a tank in the loft.

Coventry University's school of the built environment has surveyed residents and found 93% support for the use of rainwater in the home. Around 88% would be prepared to use it to flush the toilet and 97% would use rainwater on the garden.
