Ian Lang MP, Secretary of State for Scotland, today appointed Mrs Marcia Campbell of Standard Life to the Commission for Local Authority Accounts in Scotland.

Mrs Campbell, who replaces Mr David Williamson, heads an internal management systems consultancy group at Standard Life which carries out projects to improve corporate performance.

She has been appointed to the Commission for four years from October 1, 1993 to September 30, 1997.

Mr Lang reappointed Mr William W Japp and Mr Ian Little to serve on the Commission for a further four years from October 1, 1993 to September 30, 1997.

Mr Japp is a former Chief Executive of Nithsdale District Council while Mr Little was previously Chief Executive of Anderson, Strathclyde plc.
