GAY PROTEST OVER SCARBOROUGH BOYCOTT LIFT

The Campaign for Homosexual Equality has written to Scarborough BC demanding access to conference facilities.

The group was banned from the resort in 1976, after which the Liberal Democrats boycotted the town as a conference venue reports the Yorkshire Post (p8).

The CHE has also protested to Paddy Ashdown who lifted the boycott after Scarborough's four year old decision to welcome all organisations, 'provided they were legal'.
