The London Assembly has slashed its complicated committee structure in an attempt to get the public interested.

The assembly, which so far has made little impact on the consciousness of Londoners, has slimmed down its committee structure from around 30 to 11.

Sally Hamwee (Lib Dem) chairs the budget committee, John Biggs (Lab) chairs transport, Trevor Phillips (Lab) has taken over from MrsHamwee as chair and Bob Neill (Con) chairs planning and spatial development.

Economic and social development

is chaired by Mike Tuffrey (Lib Dem). Jenny Jones (Green) chairs the standards committee.
