Eurostar is saying that direct international rail services north of Watford are not feasible, according to The Herald (14 Dec, p1).

But Charles Gordon, chairman of Strathclyde Passenger Transport Authority, called the situation 'a national scandal' and promised vigorous court action to prevent the consortium appointed to run Eurostar UK Ltd from abandoning without proper consultation the original plan to provide Eurostar services from the regions.
