An unusual legal dispute between two councils in Dorset is set to be resolved, reports the Evening Echo, Bournemouth.

Bournemouth BC and Christchurch DC have clashed over council tax liability for 300 beach huts on Mudeford sandbanks.

Bournemouth leases the sandbanks to Christchurch and has imposed a £48,000 annual tax bill.

Christchurch has taken the case to the Dorset valuation tribunal and a decision is expected to be announced in the next few weeks, the paper reports.
