The Cabinet Office and Customs and Excise have launched a public sector benchmarking service to help public services exchange ideas and best practice.
The service will have a website and help desk, and will provide a comprehensive advisory service, explaining processes, finding potential partners and putting people in touch with others who have undertaken similar exercises.
Paymaster general Dawn Primarolo said: 'The service is a good practice exchange for public servants that will link central and local government and the NHS.
Using the service, a manager in one part of public service can seek out and learn from good practice in other parts.'
