A Financial Mail on Sunday feature (p22) highlighted a campaign to change public sector pension rules which mean that those who remarry after retiring from the public sector or armed forces lose pension rights for their widows - even though they were paid for during their working lives.

More than 2,000 couples and widows affected by the regulations have contacted the newpaper and all MPs have been sent letters demanding changes. MPs are among the few public servants exempted from these pension rules.
