Partnerships have begun to bid for the remaining£90m under the rolling programme to invest£153m in new or extended CCTV systems in England and Wales, home office minister Charles Clarke told MPs. The funding will run until the end of next year.

economies of scale to be made; and secondly, the need to go for schemes on small shopping precincts outside city centres, which had not always been economic.
