Opposition members of Birmingham City Council will today demand an investigation into the council's £400,000 a year women's unit, the Birmingham Post reports (p1).

Members of the community affairs committee are concerned about the role of the unit's head who earns £42,000 a year, says the paper. The council's audit team are believed to be investigating the running of the unit, the Birmingham Post claims. ENDs
