In a detailed report the Birmingham Post (p11) lists '50 ways the council spent £30 million' in a bid to contrast the council's under spending on education with the millions spent on 'prestige projects'.

The paper runs the investigation in the light of a report into the state of education in Birmingham which has called for £300 million to be spent on education in the city. Among the prestige projects the paper lists the International Convention Centre and the Symphony Hall.
