Actor Tony Booth, the prime minister's father-in-law, has agreed to appear in a television drama about one of Labour's biggest - and most recent - scandals, reported The Sunday Telegraph (p13). The actor, who is Cherie Blair's father, will play himself in the film which is

based on the corruption scandal in the Labour stronghold of Doncaster, which he helped to expose.

Thw two-hour drama-documentary which has a working title of One Good Man, shows how a small band of whistle-blowers were subjected to a campaign of intimidation by local party activists. One scene will show a Labour MP assaulting a local party activist. Another will

show how Mr Booth, a life-long Labour activist, warned Mr Blair about problems in Doncaster in 1996 when he was leader of the opposition.
