The Social Security Advisory Committee has been asked by the Secretary of State for Social Security to consider draft regulations which would preclude persons from abroad from receiving housing benefit or council tax benefit, if they have been allowed to enter, or remain in, the UK on the basis that they would have no recourse to public funds.

Those wishing to make representations to the Committee may obtain copies of an explanatory note and the draft regulations from the Secretary, SSAC, Room 344, New Court, Carey Street, London WC2A 2LS. Representations to the Committee should be sent to arrive no later than 10 December 1993.
