Waltham Forest LBC is hoping to pot on a show of unity and diversity this weekend at the annual Walthamstow Festival, in the wake of last week's anti-terror arrests in the north London neighbourhood.

Council leader Clyde Loakes will be on hand to meet the public and mix with the crowds. It's expected that local residents will take the opportunity to talk to him about the council's response to the events of the last week, and future plans to provide reassurance and information to the whole community.

Mr Loakes said: 'This is a resilient and harmonious borough and our recent experiences have already had the affect of bringing all our residents together. The festival this Sunday will give them the opportunity to celebrate what makes us special.'
