Bournemouth Council's planning committee has given approval to a unique, all-weather 'Aquaponicum' attraction.

The proposed Aquaponicum, to be sited in West Beach Square, west of Bournemouth Pier will be the first-of-its-kind in Britain, offering visitors the experience of travelling through the world's three climactic zones, in a 'journey' from the Arctic to the Equator.

Developer - The Real Live Leisure Company - expects work to begin on the Aquaponicum next month.

Council leader Douglas Eyre said: 'The Aquaponicum is one of a number of key initiatives which we want to bring to Bournemouth. If ever a scheme was really made for Bournemouth, this is the one!'
