Bradford Council is backing the application of the private Muslim Girl's Community School for voluntary-aided status, the Yorkshire Post reports (p11).

If the Bradford school succeeds it would win substantial state funding and would become the first Muslim school in Britain to achieve the voluntary-aided status already enjoyed by many Anglican, Roman Catholic, Methodist and Jewish schools.
