A senior official from the ODPM has been appointed as Doncaster MBC's new assistant chief executive.

William Bradshaw, 41, assistant director for capacity building in the local government division of the ODPM, is due to take up the newly created senior post next month.

He will help lead the chief executive's department as well as acting as adviser to the mayor, who was among the first batch of those elected in May.

Mr Bradshaw said: 'This new post provides me with an exciting opportunity

to work in a council which is not afraid to implement change in order to provide the best services.'

Mr Bradshaw, who had been seconded to the modernising public services group of the Cabinet Office, moved to the ODPM last autumn.
