  • Comment
A Norfolk council is set to outsource its planning and building control services in a deal which worth at least£35m, it is reported.

The local edp24 website says Breckland Council's leading group wants to hand over the work to Capita Symonds, a division of outsourcing giant Capita Group.

The report says it is anticipated to bring in savings of£5.7m over 15 years.

The recommendation is going to the full council.

Capita Symonds says it would hope to expand its new department in Dereham into a hub covering other outsourcing work in the south east and eastern regions.

Capita Symonds is said to have been the the only firm expressing an interest in the contract.
