Labour councillors allege that the Conservative-controlled Brent LBC has used similar housing policies to neighbouring Westminster City Council, the Financial Times reports (15 January, p4).

Councillors claim that Brent LBC has introduced a 'portable right to buy' scheme, allowing tenants to buy in a 'more desirable' area than their own.

Brent's housing committee chairman, Irwin Colle has denied the charge. The Labour group has put down for the next council meeting censuring Brent for its housing policies, reports the paper.
