In a case which could set a legal precedent for thousands of schoolchildren, a teenager is suing her education authority for failing to protect her from school bullies, the Sunday Times reports (p7).

The legal action is being brought against Derbyshire CC by Becky Walker, who suffers from cerebral palsy.

The case, says the paper, is due to be heard before a county court judge early next year and will establish whether education authorities can be held liable for protecting children from bullying.
