Isle of Wight Council has been vindicated by the High Court following an 11-day hearing into allegations of bullying.
Emma Hansen claimed Ryde High School failed to address bullying and make adequate provision for her special educational needs between 1991 and 1993. The council has spent£125,000, met by insurance.
Assistant director of education David Pettitt, head of the school at the time, said: 'We regret the amount of time, energy and emotional investment this case has caused. This long-running action reflects a growing and regrettable trend in litigation against public servants.'
