Cosla president Pat Watters said:
'In our response to the local government committee's inquiry into local
government finance we promoted business improvement districts as a useful
tool for financing improvements or services in a specific area.
'It is good to see the executive listening to Cosla and the committee and
acting in a positive manner.
'In the same response we also flagged up the importance of the business
sector and we would hope to engage with them during this consultation
Mr Watters finished by commenting on the roll out of the city growth
'We welcomed the £90m when it was announcedin January and it is good to see the specific allocations being announced today. It will allow councils to begin work on developing their plans and visions.'
