The Building Material Producers' Council has written to all MPs calling on the government to reverse cuts imposed over the past two years in transport supplementary grant and to allow councils to spend capital receipts on house building.

The Financial Times (p7) reports that the council also calls for tax relief for first time buyers to be increased to 25%.
