'We were asked not to speak to the press about the report until the minister had published the report at midday. So we were more than a bit surprised to hear all about it on the Today programme first thing on Tuesday morning with no response from Cambridgeshire. We will be demanding an explanation from the Department of Health,' Mr Pearson said.
A DoH spokesman said: 'We told Cambridgeshire we wouldn't publish anything before 14 October. We told them we would be putting it out early and understood from the Today programme that someone from Cambridgeshire was invited on.
