Dustmen and road sweepers at Camden LBC have called off a planned series of week-long strikes, The Hampstead and Highgate Express (p11) reports.

The council has announced that agreement has been reached in the long-running dispute over pay and conditions, following talks held by the arbitration service, Acas.

The agreement follows a revised pay offer to workers from Serviceteam, the company contracted by Camden to empty dustbins and keep the streets clean.

A mass meeting of staff last week voted 'overwhelmingly' to accept the new pay offer.
