The partnership contract for running the Constructionline online register of approved construction contractors and consultants has been won by Capita Business Services, reports The Western Mail (p11).
Construction minister Nick Raynsford announced yesterday that Capita will run the service for seven years.
The company plans to invest more than£750,000 in the service in the first year and aims to triple the number of firms on the register and increase the number of clients fivefold over the next three years.
Mr Raynsford said: 'Constructionline is an important element in our drive to improve quality and efficiency in construction. Capita will bring expertise, enthusiasm and further investment to develop the product and will make the lists of quality builders much more widely available to the public sector and, for the first time, the private sector.'
