Over 10% of council tax liable properties in Ceredigion collection authority area have banding appeal cases still outstanding (WA, 5 July, col171).

The April 1 figure announced by Welsh under-secretary Gwilym Jones is the least favourable in Wales, reflecting a total of 3,196 properties.

In contrast, Cardiff area has a similar number of outstanding appeals - the April 1 figure is 2,841 - but this represents only 2.4% of liable properties.
