Over 30 Chelmsford residents had the chance to discuss the future of local government at one of Sir Michael Lyons' public engagement events for his inquiry. The session, organised by Chelmsford BC, Essex CC and inquiry officials, was one of nine taking place around the country.

Resident Emma Wyatt said: 'The day gave everyone the opportunity to voice their opinions on topics ranging from local waste management and recycling, to the councils' involvement in child protection.'
