The Corporation of London has new planning guidelines which limit the height of buildings in the city and prevent the erection of buildings which are eyesores, the Evening Standard reports (p19).

The rules will help protect historic buildings from being dominated by new development and create an acceptable mix of old and new architecture, reports the paper.
