Civica gains service management system certification

Civica, a market leader in specialist systems and business process services that help organisations transform the way they work, has achieved certification for ISO 20000, the service management system (SMS) standard.

Building on Civica’s proven track record, this latest certification provides an endorsement of the company’s growing cloud and managed services business, reinforcing its commitment to high quality IT management standards.

Alongside Civica’s existing range of quality and employee certifications, the award recognises the company’s focus on providing high quality services for organisations of all sizes. Compliance requires providers to demonstrate that they can plan, establish, implement, operate, monitor, review, maintain and improve the SMS in order to design and deliver services to meet agreed customer requirements.

Steve Shakespeare, managing director, Civica Services said: “Achieving ISO 20000 builds on our recent accreditation update of ISO 27001:2013 and confirms the strength of our cloud and managed services business. It demonstrates our commitment to maintaining high standards and underpins the delivery of consistent and customer-focused services. While our clients may vary in terms of size and scope, they all realise the benefit of delivering some, if not all of their IT services from the cloud. We also have a number of fully IT outsourced contracts delivered from this environment.”

Civica currently provides over 500 Cloud and Managed Service customers globally, including organisations such as Luton Borough Council, Railway Housing, Avanta and the Universities Superannuation Scheme. Read more about the organisations that Civica supports here.

This latest certification adds to an already strong portfolio of certifications for Civica. These include the information security standards ISO 27001:2013, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 and Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DDS) for payment solutions. Meanwhile, specifically focused towards healthcare, Civica is also certified with IGSoC N3, which provides secure service hosting for the NHS, and OHSAS 18001 to support occupational health and safety services.

Looking ahead, Civica is also working towards Public Services Network (PSN) certification in a number of areas as well as Pan Government Accreditation for IL3 Service and ISO 22301 to underpin business continuity and disaster recovery.
