The director of the Chartered Institute of Housing in Wales today called for a greater commitment to action on housing policy and investment from the Welsh Office.

Speaking at the CIH conference at Llandrindod Wells, Mark Gardner called on Welsh secretary John Redwood to give more support to Welsh housing organisations as they prepare for further change.

'Greater attention and understanding is essential to how housing providers can realistically deal with consecutive and very tough deadlines for implementing CCT and local government reorganisation,' he said.
