The Guardian carries a story (p6) about Cleveland CC's decision to take the Local Government Commission to court over the way it has conducted the review.

The council's chief executive, Bruce Stevenson, is quoted as saying that the commission was acting against guidance from environment secretary, John Gummer. The judicial review is expected to cost up to £150,000, reports the paper.
