The parents of Victoria Climbie have rejected an apology from the social worker responsible for managing their daughter's case at Haringey LBC.

After months of refusing to appear to give evidence at the inquiry into Victoria's death, Carole Baptiste asked Francis and Berthe Climbie for their forgiveness in a written statement.

But the Climbies replied: 'Her delay has prolonged the distress, anxiety and pain suffered by us by her failure to give evidence which would assist the inquiry and help us understand why and how our daughter died.'
