Measures guaranteeing good-as-new land restoration at a privatised opencast mine have been neglected, says Clydesdale DC, reports The Scotsman (p4).

The council has estimated that the current costs of restoring the Dalquhandy site are at least £15m. It is investigating mounting a legal challenge, reports the paper.
