The National Council of Parent Teacher Associations is the focus of a critical Charity Commissioners report due out tomorrow, reports the Independent (p6).

The NCPTA, which represents almost 12,000 schools around the country, was the subject of a commissioners' inquiry in February after allegations of junkets, mismanagement, conflicts of interests and lack of financial controls.

The report looks at the spending of charity funds on legal advice and the employment of former trustees. There are likely to be more inquiries, with commissioners empowered to remove trustees if their findings warrant it.
