The Association of County Councils and Association of Metropolitan Councils are to host a meeting at the House of Commons Grand Committee room on Monday to discuss the future of the police and police authorities.

The purpose will be to inform members of police authorities and others involved in policing issues of the latest developments in policing in the light of the ongoing Home Office review of police authorities; and the Sheehy Committee's review of police officers' conditions of service.

The meeting will be attended by 170 delegates.
